Provided a new creative focus, administrative framework and governance policy guidance during a period of decreased state appropriation that necessitated the preparation and implementation of a $950,000 annual budget—representing a 30-35% reduction in available funding. Managed the acquisition and display of material cultural objects from the museum’s permanent collection, as well as temporary and loan exhibitions. Also, managed education and instruction programs in conjunction with the oversight of building operations—equipment maintenance, security, business services, museum library, public relations, and docent programs. Coordinated fund-raising and revenue producing activities that included liaison with federal, state and local elected officials.
