Represented facility’s owner in all matters relating to the development of joint project between City of Philadelphia, National Park Service, and Independence National Historical Park, to be located adjacent to Liberty Bell Center.
Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ): Boys Choir of Harlem, Inc (BCH) New York, NY 2004 to 2005
On behalf of the funding agency, coordinated stabilization and turnaround initiatives for the world-renowned organization, providing operational support, strategic plan development (funding, governance, financial recovery, analysis of internal operations), as well as on-site supervision of 8-10 staff and counsel to Board of Directors, legal and financial advisors. The Choir revenue had decreased from an excess of 1.5 million a year to less than 500,000 with outstanding tax liabilities dating back four to five years.
City of Charleston: American History Workshop International African American Museum (IAAM), Charleston, SC 2003 to 2005
Provided professional services on the concept, community involvement and educational opportunities to the City Planning Office on development of the IAAM project sponsored by Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley and local Congressional Representative James E. Clyburn. The project is scheduled to open in 2012.
