Revitalization of Love Park

Executive Consultant/Owner’s Representative  Philadelphia, PA 2001 to 2002

Partnered with Chief of Staff Joyce Wilkerson and Mayor John F. Street to revitalize prime Center City property with mayoral mandate to implement short-term plan within six months. Under the mandate of the Mayor’s Office, coordinated with all relevant City of Philadelphia Offices with a project budget of approximately $2,000,000. Supervised refurbishment project management in collaboration with architectural and landscaping firms and 8-member committee comprising key City of Philadelphia agencies; completed all phases of project on time, within budget.

  • Executed thorough review of site’s architectural history, consulted formally and informally with key City representatives, local small business and tourist organizations, and crafted short-term and implementation plans within eight weeks.
  • Presented plans and project scopes to Art Commission and Fairmount Park Commission, addressed all questions and concerns, and swiftly gained constituent and stakeholder approval.
  • Provided regular status updates to Chief of Staff and Mayor throughout project lifecycle, and directed all press relations efforts in conjunction with Mayor’s Press Office.
